This editorial article of EPW give an anlysis how democracy is made to react in economic crisis from the US experience. The earlier unwilling congress had changed as they were made to understand how critical the situation is and being reminded them of their responsibility. The issue the article raises is what is the bargain that common people got in this bail out plan. How congress could have made it better for the people than benefit a class who is marked by the “ruthless pursuit of wealth by any and all available means” is highlighted in the editorial. There were clear public opposition about the bail out plan, the question is could the congress reflect the "little man's" will.
